Eagle’s Nest and Bunker at Obersalzberg

The Kehlsteinhaus / Eagle’s Nest

Eagles_Nest_wiki.jpg

The Kehlsteinhaus, called “Eagle’s Nest” by the invading American WW2-forces, is located high above the border corner between Germany and Austria. It was built in 1938 as the NS party’s present for Adolf Hitler’s 50th birthday, just 7 km uphill from his favourite retreat, the “Berghof”. Apparently he only used the impressive location 10 times to host state guests. (Source: Wikipedia)
